Earnings: Companies report their results (International Herald Tribune)

Kraft Foods, the world's second-largest food company after Nestl, said Wednesday that quarterly profit fell 20 percent as record prices for wheat and milk raised the cost of making products like Cracker Barrel cheeses and Honey Bunches of Oats cereal.

Old island restaurant gets new building (Galveston County Daily News)

Double take: An old island restaurant has a new home. Marios Ristorante, one of the islands oldest and most popular purveyors of pizza and other Italian food, opened a new 10,000-square-foot restaurant Monday. The new eatery is directly behind the old one at 2202 61st St.
