Tarralucci a luscious Italian cookie (Macon Telegraph)

QUESTION: My mother used to make a cookie she called tarralucci. They were light and fluffy and melted in my mouth. They were made with eggs whites and vanilla and were tied into a tiny knot and coated with a thin glaze. She passed away very suddenly many years ago and I never got the recipe.
